
Sometimes airplanes and choppers land in a way they’re not supposed to. Fortunately in these cases, the pilots and co passengers lived to tell the tale.

Airline officials said the flight was heading to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., when the pilot was forced to abort takeoff around 6:30 p.m., after the front landing gear failed. A Cebu Pacific Airbus A320 passenger plane sits on the side of a runway Monday, June 3, 2013 after it overshot the runway upon landing at Davao International Airport in southern Philippines on Saturday evening. No one from 161 passengers and crew were injured but the accident forced the temporary closure of the airport and affected about 80 flights.

The accident left the Boeing 737-700 with its nose resting against the runway and forced the temporary closure of the airport, which mostly handles flights to and from other US cities.

Teams of Czech and Polish experts are working to free a Czech Boeing 737 airplane from a muddy field at the airport in Katowice, Poland on Wednesday, March 13, 2013. The plane from the Czech Travel Service airline skidded late Tuesday and went some 20 meters (22 yards) off the Pyrzowice airport runway and ran into wet ground, where its front landing gear sank. None of the 176 passengers and six crew members was hurt. The airport remains closed and flights are redirected to nearby Krakow.

The plane belonging to the Angara airline was forced to make an emergency landing on the Ob River in Siberia on July 11, killing at least five people, officials said. The regional airline said on its website that the plane's left engine caught fire, forcing it to make the emergency landing. The company confirmed that there were 33 passengers on board and four crew.
